The Girlboss evening routine

After a long day of hard work, it’s good to unwind and prepare yourself for rest.

Start by tidying up. I have a hard time relaxing if the house is unsightly, so straighten up around the house, especially areas you will be relaxing in.

Take a hot shower or bath. Dont wait to do this after you’re already tired and ready for bed. Let the warm water set the tone for the rest of your evening. Enjoy stepping out fresh and new.

Light a candle and dim the lights. I bought a lavender scented soy candle from a local vendor. It smells amazing and the lavender is so calming.

Turn off electronics. The light from your screen actually inhibits natural sleep, so put down your phone and turn off all the screens an hour or more before bed.

Think about your day. Journal. What was great? What could you have done better? How will you make tomorrow even better?

Plan the day ahead. Lay out clothes, have lunch and dinner planned and prepared. Get your to-do list ready for the morning, and set your alarm an hour earlier than normal.

Get enough sleep. Pan your day so that you get into bed and get at least 8 hours of sleep. You need your rest to be able to accomplish so many great things.
