My husband and I are very intentional about still dating each other, even after 2 years of marriage! We like to go new places and try new things, but we also have our regular hangouts. But some nights we just don’t feel like going out or doing anything. And that’s ok! We’ve discovered that you can still have an amazing date night at home.

Last week was a busy week for both of us. We both worked long hours and for a long stretch of days. Neither of us really felt much like going out. So we had a night in!

I typically try and eat low calorie/low carb, but for date night, we splurged on mediterranean flatbread and wine.

Homemade flatbread is such an easy and delicious option! There’s tons of recipes to choose from online (including gluten-free). To make it mediterranean style, top it with ricotta and feta, garlic, spinach, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes.

I always have a side salad with my dinner to fill up on greens and get a healthy diet of fiber and nutrients. Make your salad dressing at home with oil and vinegar or lemon juice.

And of course, what’s a date night without a glass of wine. We actually don’t drink wine unless we’re creating a fancy date atmosphere, so it’s a special treat! There are multiple vineyards in our surrounding area that we buy from and support local businesses.

We have been bouncing between tv shows lately. We’ve been watching Gotham on Netflix, Superman and Louis on HBO Max and The Middle on Amazon Prime. I recommend them all. They are great shows too curl up on the couch with and unwind.

Dim the lights and put some candles around the house. Make everything cozy! And enjoy your night in with each other.
